Recovering Compensation for Injuries From Essure Birth Control.

Defective Design Leads to Internal Injuries.

The Essure non-surgical sterilization device has been shown to cause a number of painful and potentially deadly complications including chronic pain and bleeding, perforation of pelvic organs, migration of the device, fetal death, autoimmune responses resulting in fatigue, hair loss and rashes, ectopic pregnancies, severe migraines and other allergic reactions. These complications often require revision surgeries to repair the damage and remove the device, which causes significant pain and suffering, on top of potentially permanent injuries. Lawsuits allege that the device is defective by design, and the negligence on the part of the manufacturer makes them responsible for compensation.

FDA Restrictions on Essure, and Voluntary Recall.

Recently the FDA learned of the large numbers of severe complications and mandated that patients wanting to undergo the procedure had to sign a document that they understood the risks before being implanted with the device.  Shortly after the FDA imposed this extraordinary restriction on the sale of Essure, Bayer, the manufacturer of the device, announced that it will stop selling Essure in the United States by the end of 2018.
